Case Study Instructions
(Read this document entirely before starting the case study.)
Waypoint #1
Select a company that operates globally (the case study requires an original submission, therefore, select a company that you have not written about before).
Please type the name of your selected company onto a Word document and upload it to the appropriate Canvas link.
Please ensure you read the complete case study instructions before you make your selection (that way you know what to expect and further can ensure there is enough available research for your selected company).
Note: You are not allowed to change company’s once you have made your initial selection (so please choose wisely).
The waypoint is worth a maximum of 5 points.
If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to get in touch with me.
All the best,
Write two sections of your case study: Company Background (description/history) and Global Benefits (the company’s global position and what the company gains from operating globally). For the latter section, please include some of the company’s challenges it has experienced (overcome).
Please construct a Word document (times new roman 12-point font, double-spaced, 1-inch margins, APA 7th edition in-text citations and end references). Please create a Reference page for your sources. When complete, upload your document to Canvas using the appropriate link (you can upload it as many times as you want up to the deadline noting that the last submission will be graded. All submissions will be checked against SimCheck (a plagiarism tool). The below SimCheck criteria will be used as one of the grading criteria for your waypoint.
In addition to the above stated, your case study waypoint will be graded on your ability to follow instructions and further on the developed product (how much effort you put into it). I will provide specific feedback at each waypoint so you may further refine your document in preparation for the final case study submission. Your waypoint does not need to be perfect (I would consider it a concerted-effort draft).
The waypoint is worth a maximum of 12.5 points.
If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to get in touch with me.

Waypoint #3
Write three sections of your case study as follows: Existing Information Systems (IS)/Information Technology (IT) Applications (those currently in place or already being provisioned in the near future), Required Information Systems (IS)/Information Technology (IT) Applications (those investments identified as essential to achieve the existing business objectives and create changes that can achieve required levels of performance or be shown to make a specific contribution to enabling or delivering the future business strategy, likely over a 3 to 12 month horizon), and Potential Information Systems (IS) and Information Technology (IT) Applications (those that might be valuable in the future, provided they prove feasible to deliver and can be shown to produce relevant benefits, either to the strategy directly by creating new strategic opportunities or via the valuable indirect effects of business changes the applications make possible, over probably the next 6 to 24 months). Note: For the Required Information Systems (IS)/Information Technology (IT) Applications and the Potential Information Systems (IS) and Information Technology (IT) Applications, you must identify a minimum of three required and three potential IS/IT applications.
Please construct a Word document (times new roman 12-point font, double-spaced, 1-inch margins, APA 7th edition in-text citations and end references). Please add additional sources to your References page. When complete, upload your document (it must include all sections – so you will have a total of five for this submission) to Canvas using the appropriate link (you can upload it as many times as you want up to the deadline noting that the last submission will be graded. All uploads will be checked against SimCheck (a plagiarism tool). The below SimCheck criteria will be used as one of the grading criteria for your waypoint.
In addition to the above stated, your case study waypoint will be graded on your ability to follow instructions and further on the developed product (completeness). I will provide specific feedback at each waypoint so you may further refine your document in preparation for the final case study submission. Your waypoint does not need to be perfect (I would consider it a best-effort draft).
The waypoint is worth a maximum of 18.75 points.

Write two sections of your case study as follows: Information Systems (IS)/Information Technology (IT) Applications Implementation Recommendations (for this paper section, you will comprehensively analyze the required and the potential IS/IT applications from Case Study Waypoint #3 and prioritize one required and one potential IS/IT application and further make implementation recommendations for the selected required and the potential IS/IT applications) and Information Systems (IS)/Information Technology (IT) Applications Implementation Strategy (in this paper section you will specifically outline your implementation strategy for the selected required IS/IT application (based upon a 3 to 12 month timeline) and the selected potential IS/IT application (based upon a 6 to 24 month timeline). You will further create a Gantt chart for both the required IS/IT application and the potential IS/IT application (and place them appropriately in your Appendix section). Smartsheet provides a free online Gantt chart tool (signing up for a free account is required – no payment information is required), or you may be interested in using Microsoft Project. Please also feel free to utilize a Gantt chart tool of your choice.
Please construct a Word document (times new roman 12-point font, double-spaced, 1-inch margins, APA 7th edition in-text citations and end references). Please add additional sources to your References page. When complete, upload your document (it must include all sections – so you will have a total of seven for this submission) to Canvas using the appropriate link (you can upload it as many times as you want up to the deadline noting that the last submission will be graded.
Your waypoint does not need to be perfect (but it should be getting close).

Waypoint #5
Write an Executive Summary (please reference this example) to accompany your case study (best practice states an executive summary should be approximately 10% of your total constructed document and further written clearly and concisely capturing the highlights or key points of your paper – I should be able to read your executive summary and know exactly what your case study is about). Please note: The Executive Summary is the first section of the document appearing after the table of contents and before the introduction. Review and revise your compiled case study in preparation for your final case study submission.
Please construct a Word document (times new roman 12-point font, double-spaced, 1-inch margins, APA 7th edition in-text citations and end references). Please add additional sources to your References page. When complete, upload your document (it must include all sections – so you will have a total of eight for this submission) to Canvas using the appropriate link (you can upload it as many times as you want up to the deadline noting that the last submission will be graded. All uploads will be checked against SimCheck (a plagiarism tool). The below SimCheck criteria will be used as one of the grading criteria for your waypoint.
In addition to your compiled case study, which now will include an executive summary, please also have a title page, a table of contents, and an appendix, which will contain charts/graphics/tables to support important points (please ensure you reference the sample APA paper posted in Canvas). Your reference page should include a minimum of 10 credible sources. The final constructed case study should be eight (8) – ten (10) pages (this does not include the title page, the table of contents, the reference page, or the appendix).
The final case study submission is worth a maximum of 50 points.

All the best,
If you are unsure how to access your SimCheck similarity report, please use the following link: https://help.turnitin.com/integrity/student/canvas/the-similarity-report/accessing-the-similarity-report.htm.
Your similarity reports are available (usually immediately after upload – in other circumstances (large files or a busy network), it may take a little longer (up to 24-hours (so do not wait until the last minute)).
