Part A
The biggest take-out from the module is the role of the women in the theater around the globe. From the module, it is evident that women played a very significant role in the theatres. However, the women were greatly discriminated against and disallowed from participating in some theaters more so in Greek and Shakespeare theaters due to cultural and religious reasons. From the module, it is apparent that China, India, and nations from Africa have traditionally permitted women to perform in their theaters though this depended on factors such as culture and timing, among other factors. This is a subject within the module that greatly enlightened me concerning the relationship between gender and art.
Part B
There is a key connection between the unit of the theater of the people and the module on eastern theatrical tradition and practice, in that in both contexts, the issue of the role of the theater is highlighted. In this module, the influence of the eastern theatrical tradition is emphasized, where its major influence such as the western theatre is discussed. This relates to the previous topic, where a platform is created to showcase diversity among humans, and how they use art to deliver a message to the masses. The two units also have a major connection in that they expound on different cultural practices around the world, with the theatre being a major focus.
