Part A
A major takeaway from the module is the issue of rituals and its relationship with theater and plays. The module increased my understanding of the definition of ritualism and what entailed the ritual theater. From the module, I can understand the two traits which distinguish pure ritual from the theatre. A major takeaway from the module is the fact that in a theatre an actor plays a certain role, which is different from what a ritual entails. I also learned that theaters have a story which mostly has a scripted conflict, which is dissimilar from the features of a ritual.
Part B
The two units have a major connection. A significant connection which is noted is one of the major topics that entails the depiction of theaters and their role in society. From the two units, it is apparent that theaters address the issue of diversity, where they differ in terms of characteristics and factors which influence them globally, but still, greatly borrow from each other. The two units also have a major connection in that they tend to address the issue of the role of the theater in addressing issues that affect the society at large such as racial and cultural differences and how human beings can use as a strength, rather than a point of division.
