Legend stories have a significant impact on the perspectives of individuals towards life because of their ability to demonstrate the best approaches people can use to overcome challenges in their surroundings. On many occasions, the narratives may vary from one community to another because of the process used by individuals to define their identity. However, many critics indicate that there is a need to redefine the influence of the legend stories in the contemporary community because of the limited evidence that supports their super powers. I believe that legend stories should be re-examined and retold in a way the modern generation can relate and connect with the thematic concerns.
Young people are exposed to an environment where they can learn different aspects of their culture and connect with the values gained during their interactions with other people. On many occasions, the different insights shared by individuals vary from facts to myths, a move that influences their perspectives towards life. For instance, The Legend of King Arthur has a limited evidence-based background that hinders individuals from connecting with the unique approaches adopted by the protagonist. Nonetheless, the insights gained from this story angle influence individuals about his identity in the community and ability to overcome different aspects of life that interfere with people’s understanding of his culture.
I support the view that legend stories should be re-examined and retold in a way the modern generation can relate and connect with the thematic concerns. In many instances, stories of powerful individuals who overcame all odds to rise to the top are overshadowed by other events that hinder modern generations from learning about their identity. Importantly, repackaging the narratives and sharing them with the modern generation increase the probability of handling emerging problems that lower the people’s quality of life.
