A Proposal on whether humans should consume hot or cold water
Explain the issue
Water is an essential component for the survival of living creatures. It is crucial for metabolic functions, homeostasis, temperature regulation, cellular activity and substrate movement across membranes (Armstrong et.al., 1928). Both hot and cold water serve beneficial functions to the welfare of human beings. Hot water is associated with the detoxification of the body, improvement in digestion, the alleviation of pain and relieving nasal congestion. The consumption of cold-water aids in weight reduction, the alleviation of heat stroke and serves as a good post work-out drink.
I am studying this study because I want to find out the associated health implications of consuming hot and cold water and which among the two is safer to consume, as well as the benefits and detrimental effects associated with consuming hot and cold water. Water temperatures in involuntary drinking serve different functions to the body depending on the state of the body (Edson ,3). When dehydrated participants consume water ranging within diverse temperature as heir sweating response is influenced by the quantity of water consumed and the water temperatures (Hossenlou et.al., 1). The sweating response in cold water varies distinctively from other water temperatures since water at 16 c and below offers the hydrating effect required by dehydrated subjects. Intense work outs necessitate the intake of cold water in order to manage thermoregulatory processes (Burdon et.al., 1147). The target audience will comprise of the general public and health practitioners. Moreover, the public will identify the quantity of water that is necessary to meet the demands for proper health. Health practitioners will be required to share their views regarding hot and cold-water consumption. They will be required to provide substantiated data concerning the importance of consuming water in general, and identify which one between hot and cold water is safer to consume. Health practitioners are targeted because they interact with greater audiences and they are most credible on matters pertaining to health.
The study will implement the cross-sectional study design whereby data will be collected at a point in time. Interviews and questionnaires will be utilized in the collection of data. Interview sessions will be exclusively interactive where participants will share their opinions and enquire if necessary. Moreover, they will be able to educate others on particular instances that they perceived the benefits of the type of water they find to be safe. The interviews will be tape recorded for future reference. Questionnaires will comprise of both structured and unstructured questions. The use of open-ended questions will allow participants to explicitly discuss their views pertaining the importance of hot and cold-water consumption. Data records depicting the trends of water consumption will be utilized to make comparisons.
Significance of the study
Research findings will educate the public on what type of water to consume regularly due its beneficial effects. The public will also be educated on the safest amounts of water to consume on a daily basis to achieve optimal health. Health practitioners will learn the importance of hot and cold water and utilize the information to educate the public on ways they can implement to access the safe type of water, and how they can achieve the consumption of the recommended quantity of water per day.
My paper focuses on the benefits and disadvantages of consuming hot and cold water, and whether it is more beneficial to consume one other than the other. I aspire to determine the long-term outcomes connected with consuming hot and cold water and whether there is a significant difference when one is consumed more than the other .I also purpose to determine the probable implications of inadequate consumption of cold and hot water by comparing different groups of individuals and their health outcomes over a particular period of time. The selected sources are reliable and efficient as they are obtained from credible authors who possess exemplary expertise on matters regarding water and its functions in the human body. Additionally, there has been limited research conducted in the area I aspire to study; therefore, I feel it is worthwhile to pursue related research. I hope that my readers will benefit from this paper.

The authors connote that water temperature significantly impacts the hydration status of particular individuals. When warm water is consumed after heavy work-outs, the effects are substantially diverse from those instances when cold water is consumed. Cold water serves as a good post-work out drink as it is able to produce the cooling effect necessary after sweat response. Moreover, cold water restores individuals’ hydration status as compared to warmer water. The authors assert that in situations when it is necessary to restore the hydration status, cold water consumption is more suitable than hot water.
I found this study to be beneficial as it provides useful insights regarding cold water and its specific purpose in addressing the hydration issue. The analysis offered an idea on the advantages of cold-water intake as opposed to hot water intake by clearly clarifying how thermoregulatory suppression impacts circulation and fluid. Investigating the perceptions of thermoregulatory processes and water temperatures will enable me to gather a clarified perspective on what to focus on my final research. I find the study useful because it utilizes comprehensive analysis to classify the interactions between fluid and thermoregulatory processes, and how each influences the other providing clarity on why cold water is necessary in such instances. The indication I derived from it will inform my research as I will be able to comprehend the associations between water temperatures and thermoregulatory functions.

Burdon et.al., affirms that cold water ingestion is useful in particular instances. The authors connote that warm or hot water is insignificant when consumed after periods of high exercise intensity, nevertheless, this type of water aids in the suppression of respiratory related malfunctions. The authors affirm that cold water is useful after heavy work out as it aids in cooling the body. Moreover, significant improvements were denoted when subjects consumed cold water after intense exercise. I chose this study because it employs a more defined outlook given the limited number of participants. This is essential as I will be able to make inferences from other related studies with broader scopes. Exploring on the perspective of thermoregulation processes and exercise will provide me with an inclusive perception on instances when cold water is more preferable than hot water and likewise. The acquisition of perception from this point will broaden my knowledge on the importance of hot and cold water on particular bodily functions. I find this study useful as it offers supportive content by comparing the different water temperatures and their impact on different weather conditions including humid and warm conditions. Thus, it is not limited to one particular setting but manages to address other applicable contexts that intake of water of varied temperatures is recommendable. The information obtained will aid in the advancement of my research as it will identify distinctive elements that make hot water intake beneficial and those that make cold water intake beneficial.

According to O’connor, the claim – Never Drink Hot Water from the Tap – could be proved scientifically. Warm water is associated with improved mucous velocity but could come with negative effects associated with lead. The author further acknowledges that cold water interferes with body temperature. Liquids below 37c that are consumed interfere with the body’s temperature as energy is expended to regulate the body temperature. The author connotes that warm water intake is less likely to impact on profound changes in body temperature. Further, cold water intake predisposes individuals to sore throat.
I have used the article as it provides essential concepts regarding the outcomes of cold-water intake. I became more aware of the negative risks linked to consuming water as the author appears to have outlined the disadvantages of consuming cold water. I used this study because it also provides a semiotic assessment of the intake of water and its interferences with bodily functions such as digestion and how warm water in such cases serves a useful function by promoting proper digestion. In addition, I gathered knowledge regarding the importance of hot water consumption in reducing the incidences of respiratory malfunctions.
