Before enrolling for this program, I had certain expectations that guided my approach in the learning environment. However, the instructor balanced our expectations by discussing the course outline that would act as a guide through the learning process. I learned about influenza and how it affects the respiratory system by damaging the lungs and nasal cavity. Unlike other viruses that attack the respiratory system, flu can be deadly to people above 65 years (Acosta, 2019). Familiarizing myself with these concepts has enabled me to understand the recommended health style that people should embrace to protect themselves from contracting respiratory diseases.
Governments should put in place measures that promote awareness in the community to protect the general wellbeing of individuals. At any given time, people should be informed about the health risks that affect their perspectives towards life and how they can be mitigated through healthy living. Health and nutrition have become topical issues that address various aspects that influence the focus of individuals towards different outcomes in their surroundings (Guettabi & Munasib, 2018). Considering the problems that affect people in their immediate environment, the public should be informed about the measures that can be adopted to protect the welfare of individuals and their focus on life.
Familiarizing myself with these concepts has enabled me to understand the recommended health style that people should embrace to protect themselves from contracting respiratory diseases. Undertaking this course provides one with the relevant concepts of interaction that shape objectives and the approaches used by individuals to overcome challenges taking place in their surroundings. I believe learning institutions should adopt this program and inculcate the concepts in their teaching approaches to cater to the changing needs of individuals in their immediate environment.
