The physician access portal aids medical practitioners with the capacity to track patient health information history. The portal allows the medical practitioner (physician) to enter information about a patient. For a new patient, the physician is expected to add the new information into the system allowing the health data to be recorded for future references. The patient/client module enables the physician to retrieve health information history regarding a particular patient. The “Patient Finder’ allows the search of a specific patient’s information and complemented by the ‘Patient Record Request’ tab to access the information (OpenEMR, 2020). The tool is essential to ensure that, as a physician, you do not miss anything on the patient’s health history. The administrator can execute a myriad of activities through editing key features such as Users, Addr Book, Globals, Facilities, Practice, Codes, Layouts, Lists, ACL, Files, Backup, Rules, Alerts, and Patient Reminders (OpenEMR, 2020). Moreover, the admin has access to all physician’s activities on the system while the physician can only see the activities on the portal. The same way they can access numerous information regarding the patients – is the same way that the administrator can access and review all the information of all physicians. Thus, the administrator has power over the physician in the use of the system.
