I am seeking for 4 advanced level credits in Shipping logistics management by leveraging on my work experience with Interamerican Motor Corporation. Working with Interamerican Motor Corporation as a Branch Manager and Supply Chain Operations manager has exposed me to different challenges and opportunities that have shaped my career path. Some of the insights I gained from Interamerican were based on supply management. I now have strong numerical and analytical skills, a keen attention to detail, and I can easily adapt to change. Besides, I am quick in following through and taking action when needed.
My current day to day responsibilities are to strategically plan and manage logistics, warehouse, transportation, and customer service. My career in logistics planning and management is best described as being responsible for the plans which ensure that the product arrives at the right location, on time and in the safest and most economical manner. Over the last five years, I have worked directly with other Branch managers across the country to build a system that optimizes our deliveries, ensures our warehouses are meeting productivity targets and balancing Profit-Loss reports with payroll to ensure we are running efficiently. I have also had the opportunity to travel to be a part of the company’s team that builds new facilities from the ground up. This includes building Plant layouts for products, hiring and training staff until the warehouse is ready to operate on its own, and coordinating with local management to build optimal routes that meet our sales targets.
Adaptability to change has proven to be one of my strongest skills I have learned while working with Interamerican Motor Corporation. Over the last five years, we have been a part of multiple acquisitions when my company was owned by Autozone and is now owned by Parts Authority. I have learned how each company’s corporate structure, logistics and culture affect how efficiently the business runs as a whole. I have applied most of my knowledge in the field with our project management team and IT team to further develop programs and reports that help our managers make educated decisions on how to optimally run our business. Another fine aspect that has shaped my career is being quick to follow through with tasks and mastering the art of being organized. The supply chain has 5 main components that need to be managed properly Outbound deliveries, Inbound Deliveries, Sales, Shipping and Returns. As the Branch Manager it will be my responsibility to ensure each of these departments are working in sync with each other.
