The first day in any professional is quite challenging and has to be approached most professionally and carefully as possible. I hope to meet with the Sheriff’s deputies, who will give me any updates on the new environment and what to expect or not. I will also create a great link with them to ensure that we cohesively work together to ensure that the courthouse is safe and secure.
After the briefing, I hope to be as proactive as possible on the first day since this will determine my seriousness and professionalism in the job. I will report any potential threat to the Sheriff’s deputies, who will give me the go-ahead on what best to do before it’s too late. I will also be very keen to observe individuals with suspicious behaviors and not where they are supposed to be. On the first day, I also hope to provide customer service, where I will greet guests, ask them to sign in, and aid them in any difficulties they experience when getting into the courtroom.
On the first day, I will hope to maintain the highest standards of professionalism. This will help me become the desired employee and ensure to attain the expectations of my role. In addition, I will ensure to understand the tone of my colleagues and for persons coming into the courtroom. I also hope to reinforce my tone through my presence. Finally, I have to showcase my interpersonal skills, try to engage with people as expected, and ensure that I keep doing what is expected of me.
