From a personal perspective, William Henry Harrison’s policies are the most suitable for the nation. This is because the policies seem to be directed to the wellbeing of the citizens, needs, and in the development of the US economy. The country’s economy has been experiencing difficulties and hardships. The policies are transformative in nature and are meant to achieve the best outcome for all citizens. It is evident that America needs to change the current leadership, which has failed to meet the expectations of the people but has instead embarked on politicking without giving any particular solutions to the citizens.
William Henry Harrison, the Whig party’s nominee for president, has excellent personal qualities that augur well with the needs of Americans. His records can be used to describe his attributes. He has been involved in the Battle between Americans and Indians. From the battle, he was heralded as a hero and named supreme commander in the Northwest. This shows that he has excellent leadership skills, and can make a great president and effective leader who would best suit America.
Martin Van Buren, who is the incumbent president, has unpopular policies. He has been unable to deliver his policies to the Americans, where the economy of the country has been progressing poorly. He has also failed to save the Americans from soaring prices, ruined banks, and prevailing poor housing conditions. I believe that his policies will not be best suitable for the American people, and he should get replaced.
The reason for rejecting other candidates is because Harrison has outdone others. He is not just a hero but is also a decisive leader who will act accordingly when need arises. Alongside Harrison, another candidate I would support is John Tyler. He is the running mate, who has been offering support to Harrison in the course of the campaigns. He equally has worked hard and is very collaborative and would be suitable for the president’s position.
